Warm greetings and blessings to you, dear Friend!
May you be filled with lovingkindness.
May you be safe and protected from all inner and outer dangers.
May you be well in body and mind.
May you be at ease and happy.
Every January, I choose a word that will serve as my theme for the year.
My word/theme for 2016 is SPACE.
Many of us, myself included, set our lives up to be impossible: we have too many things to do, and not enough time to do them all.
I’ve decided that I’m DONE with living that way, and I’m making choices to create space on every level of my being – physically,
emotionally, mentally, and spiritually.
On the physical plane, I’m choosing to purge my home of anything and everything that no longer feels like a “good fit” for me. (I’ve done this before, and I’m always amazed and delighted at how this practice both brings me peace and allows new good to flow into my life.)
On the emotional plane, I’m choosing to learn to express my wants and needs more clearly and easily, and to become a better listener. (I just finished reading “Words Can Change Your Brain: 12 Conversation Strategies to Build Trust, Resolve Conflict, and Increase Intimacy”, by Andrew Newberg and Mark Robert Waldman. It’s all about “Compassionate Communication”, and it’s a REAL game-changer!)
On the mental plane, I’m choosing to be more mindful of the information I choose to digest (books, e-mail subscriptions, movies, videos), and of the language that I use (both internally and externally!).
On the spiritual plane, I’m choosing to ensure that I have some quiet time every day. (For me, nothing beats a long walk!)
AND – setting my timer to ensure that I take breaks throughout the day is GREATLY helping me to incorporate these choices into my life.
(For those of you who didn’t read last month’s newsletter, I encourage you to read “The Power of Full Engagement”, by Jim Loehr and Tony Schwartz.)
SO – with gratitude, curiosity and excitement – I say YES to SPACE in 2016!
My dear friend Marcy Baruch has a great song called “This Inner Space”.
You can listen to it here. May it serve you well:
(You can buy Marcy’s CD “The Strength of Love”, which includes “This Inner Space”, here: https://www.cdbaby.com/cd/marcybaruch3

How about YOU, dear Friend? What’s most resonating in YOU these days?
I’m thinking that a LOT of us are feeling the desire to create space in our lives, as is suggested in this article that a dear friend just sent me:
WHEREVER you are on your journey, I’d love to hear from you. Please e-mail me at firstname.lastname@example.org; we’re all in this together, and we have much to learn from each other.
(BIG THANKS to all of the kind souls who respond to my newsletters; reading your comments is always a highlight of my month.)
