Holding the Space for your
Warm greetings and blessings to you, dear Friend!

May you be safe and protected from all inner and outer dangers.

THIS MONTH’S TOPIC
As I said in last month’s newsletter, I’m truly blessed and grateful to have a constant stream of resources flowing into my experience – people, places, books, sights, sounds – that encourages me and deepen my exploration.
One of those resources are daily insights from Educare Unlearning Institute. The insight from April 21st was particularly powerful for me to receive; I share it with you below, in the hope that it will speak directly to YOUR heart too:
“HONESTY WITH ONESELF
Many of us have lived since childhood
trying to please others,
and thus never really lived
our own lives.
The inner critic is the part of the ego
that tries to keep you doing this.
It puts you in a box
and works to shelter you.
It doesn’t let you dare to do anything
your parents wouldn’t do,
or your religion would frown on,
or society says not to do…
It basically says:
Don’t be your own person.
Don’t be authentic.
Don’t get to know what is deep inside your heart.
Don’t take inspired action.
If you follow this as an adult
you buy a ticket to
an unfulfilling life
that never accesses its potential.”
This is EXACTLY what I’ve been experiencing for most of my life, and what I’m now very consciously choosing to STOP doing: pleasing others, and trusting other people’s thinking more than my own. (And, to be clear, I take FULL responsibility for having lived my life this way – I blame no one.)
So, in this moment, I choose to live MY life in two important ways: to not define myself by a primary relationship, and to fully say YES to life as one who lovingly serves with his voice and with his instrument, travelling wherever Spirit leads me to do so.
Do I have moments of fear about this? Of course.
Am I willing to say YES anyway? YES, I AM.
With Gratitude and Curiosity – and with Ease and Grace and Joy – I CHOOSE to Hold the Space for my TRUE CALLING.
In honour of TRUE CALLING, I offer these songs; may they serve you well.
“True Calling” (a song of Jana Stanfield’s)
“Do That Thing” (a song of mine, from my CD “Little By Little”, to help you celebrate that thing YOU do)
“Go For It All” (a song of mine, from my CD “YES”, to help you move beyond limiting beliefs)
“Jump Right In” (a song of mine, from my CD “YES”, to help you remember that the time to act is NOW)
(You can listen to my songs and chants here.)
(You can find the words to my songs and chants here.)
(You can buy my CDs here.)
